Calling all Food Lovers ! Foodies of Verbier and the surrounding area will be licking their lips in gleeful anticipation at the news that the second edition of Haute Cuisine – The Ultimate Gastronomic Experience will be taking place at W Verbier from April 5 – 8, 2017.

For four flavourful days, the hotel will become a melting pot of culinary ideas and inspiration as ten of the world’s top chefs gather to impart their knowledge and impress diners with their mastery. If the success of the last festival is anything to go by, this one should not be missed by anyone with a passion for food and pleasure.
This stellar event sees the arrival in Verbier of ten of the world’s top chefs, holding between them no less than 14 Michelin stars. Sergi Arola, Franck Giovannini, Michel Roth, Jacques Pourcel, Alain Caron, Thierry Drapeau, Didier Corlou, Christophe Paucod, Laurent Peugeot and Stéphane Bonnat make up the inspiring guest list and their names are synonymous with innovation and sophistication in the kitchen.
On each day of the four-day event, various chefs will be leading interactive workshops (either in the large W kitchen or in the open kitchen of the Eat-Hola tapas bar ) where attendees will get an opportunity to learn the process of creating a gourmet meal, based on a signature recipe. This learning environment is a unique opportunity to interact with the presiding chef and in doing so, discover the passions that drive these masters of their trade. The hotel sommelier will select a wine perfectly suited to the meal, which participants can enjoy as they taste their final dish.
Each night, the hotel will be the sumptuous venue for the delivery of four different theme-based dinners, a collaboration by the various chefs, which promises to be both playful and surprising. On the first evening, ‘Asia takes over the Valais’, sees the Asian-inspired chefs performing their signature creations through five-courses using Valaisan produce. On the second evening, ‘sight; sound; smell; touch and taste’ will be explored and stimulated through a five-course meal with each dish linked to each of the five senses. Music will be at the heart of the third evening as five chefs choose a musical offering, in a range that varies from rock to classical and Latin to pop, to inspire their dishes, and diners will experience the food while listening to the corresponding musical track. To top the evening off, two of the guest chefs, Alain Caron and Sergi Arola, will entertain diners with their own live performance on the drums and guitar! The grand finale on April 8 brings all the chefs to the kitchen for a ‘Retox’ dinner, a ten-course fiesta for the tastebuds. The evening promises to be long and fabulous as dinner guests and chefs are invited to continue the party at Carve nightclub to the music of resident DJs.
Food-devotees (who attend two classes and one dinner) will have the chance to be selected to accompany chefs along with local snowboarding legend Géraldine Fasnacht for a ski and glass of champagne at the top of the mountain. Don’t forget to add this exciting event to your calendar!
