Every season sees something new in Verbier, whether it be new installations on the mountain, or new restaurants and businesses opening up in the town. Here’s what’s new on our radar for the coming season:
New on the Mountain
New snow cannons for for Savolyres
During the summer new Snow canonns where installed on le Sud piste on the Svaolyres side. As the name suggests this slope faces south and as such struggles to hold snow in late season. These new istallations should extend the skiing on the Savolyres side and late into April
New Lac des Vaux chair lift
The popular Lac des Vaux chairlift has been replaced with the new chairs with new safety bars like those on the Mayentzet chair. And it’s got comfier seats
New photo point at Mont Fort
Improved access to Nendaz with new 8 person gondola
The new lift links Plan de Fou and Prarion and replaces the Fontaines drag lift and the Plan de Fou cable car. Not only will thius triple the uplift capacity from 800 to 2,400 people per hour but also drastically speed up what used to be the painfully slow trip to Nendaz.
New in Town
New look for W Living Room
The start of the season celebrates the new design of the Living Room at W Verbier. With an avant-garde design, the lounge will be home to Nathalie Roche, winner of the 2019 Djette Search contest. Mixologists will be offering an innovative new cocktail menu – expect full on creativity, flair bartending and surprises throughout the winter season.
Gunpowder Curry Co.
Situated just off the Place Centrale, Gunpowder Curry Co. aims to add some spice to the Verbier dining scene by introducing a contemporary curry house vibe to the Alps. “With a menu full of big, bold flavours, dishes that are ideal for sharing, a perfectly paired drinks menu with a carefully curated selection of gins and gin-based cocktails from around the world, Gunpowder is ideal for a fun night out with friends!”

Mountain Air has kicked off an exciting new partnership with local staple Good Morning Verbier for the transformation of Le Bec restaurant. Good Morning Le Bec is now dishing out an extensive menu of healthy dishes to fuel your next adventure in a new relaxed setting on the ground floor of the shop.
Reconstruction of Hotel de Verbier
Hôtel de Verbier, located on the Place Centrale, is currently in the process of a total, structural, renovation. Taking into account the buildings iconic heritage, the new Hôtel de Verbier will become a contemporary, high-end, “boutique” – while maintaining a strong local profile.
The Verbier based family who recently bought the hotel are happy to announce that the team behind Le Rouge have confirmed they will create a new restaurant concept on the premises, while the retail space will be managed by Ski Service group. The genuine Verbier atmosphere and existing shops in the building will be preserved.
Monsieur Mountain Air
Monsieur is a fresh, new space dedicated to men’s lifestyle at Mountain Air. The exciting new addition will see a local barber available in-store three days a week. With a specially curated collection of menswear and accessories, television lounge and one of the only barbers in town, Monsieur is a new go-to for locals and visitors alike.
Ski-in / Ski Lounge

Free when you book your gear online and only three francs a day when you book instore, the new Ski Lounge comprises of 450 spaces for storage as well as dedicated staff to assist at the new special entrance from 8am-7pm. Now located on the ground floor, the luxurious Lounge allows you to not only travel to and from the slopes in your own comfortable shoes, but to ski directly back into the shop at the end of the day to let the team store and service your skis and dry your boots overnight.
